Sensitive and special-category information
Some information may be treated as sensitive or “special category” under certain laws. Your birth details, and the fact that you book poojas or spiritual consultations, can reveal or imply information about your religious or philosophical beliefs. Where the law requires it (for example under the GDPR, the UAE PDPL, or India's DPDP Act), we rely on your explicit consent to collect and use this information solely to provide the Service, and you can withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us or deleting your account.
We use your information to:
We do not use your birth details for advertising or profiling. Charts and guidance are generated to deliver the Service you request; they are not used to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you, and we do not sell this data.
We send service messages you cannot opt out of while you have an account (for example booking confirmations, reminders, and important account or security notices). Push notifications can be turned off in your device settings. If we introduce optional marketing emails or promotional notifications, we will only send them where you have opted in or where permitted by law, and every marketing message will include a way to unsubscribe.
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on:
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
We operate globally, and we and our providers may process your information in countries other than where you live, including the United Arab Emirates, the United States, the European Union, and India. These countries may have data-protection laws different from your own. When we transfer personal information across borders, we rely on a lawful transfer mechanism appropriate to your region — for example Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision for EEA/UK data, and your consent or the necessity of performing your contract where permitted under the UAE PDPL and India's DPDP Act. You can contact us for more information about the safeguards we use.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, then for any additional period required for legal, tax, accounting, dispute-resolution, or fraud-prevention purposes. Booking, payment, and tax records are typically retained for up to 5 years to meet UAE financial and tax record-keeping obligations. When no longer needed, we delete or anonymise the data.
We use technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level security on our database so each user can access only their own data. Payments use a PCI-compliant processor so card data never touches our servers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a data breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and any relevant regulator where and as required by applicable law.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can:
We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law and will not charge a fee unless your request is manifestly unfounded or excessive. We may need to verify your identity before acting. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Below are additional rights and points of contact for particular regions. Wherever you live, you can exercise the rights available to you by contacting us at contact@mybrahmanda.com, and we will apply the protections your local law requires.
European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland
Under the GDPR, UK GDPR, and Swiss FADP you have the rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and to withdraw consent at any time. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. If we are required to appoint an EU/UK representative or a Data Protection Officer, their contact details will be published here: [EU/UK REPRESENTATIVE / DPO CONTACT, IF APPLICABLE].
United Arab Emirates
Under the UAE Federal Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) you have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, and object to processing, to request portability, and to withdraw consent, and you may complain to the UAE Data Office. As a UAE free-zone entity we also follow the data-protection rules of our free zone.
India
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP Act) you may access, correct, and erase your personal data, nominate another person to exercise your rights, and raise grievances. India treats anyone under 18 as a child; the Service is intended for users 18 and over and we do not knowingly serve minors. You can contact our grievance officer at [GRIEVANCE OFFICER CONTACT] and may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.
California (CCPA/CPRA)
California residents have rights to know, delete, correct, and to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Other US states
Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws (for example Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and Texas) have similar rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of their data, and to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, and certain profiling. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Canada, Australia, Brazil, and other regions
Under laws such as Canada's PIPEDA, Australia's Privacy Act, and Brazil's LGPD, you have rights to access and correct your information and to complain to your local regulator. If your country gives you additional data-protection rights, you can exercise them by contacting us, and we will honour the protections your local law requires.
The Service is intended for users aged 18 and over (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Our websites use essential cookies only: they keep you signed in and keep your account secure, and we rely on our payment processor's and security provider's cookies at checkout. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not currently run analytics or tracking cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may break sign-in. If we introduce analytics in future, we will ask for your consent first and update this Policy. Where your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or “Do Not Track” signal, we will honour it to the extent required by applicable law.
The Service may link to or rely on third-party services that have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices; please review their policies.
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date and, for material changes, provide additional notice in the app or by email.
